Everyone involved in the [Shrout Home] project agrees the dramatic and rustic spiral staircase is probably the most unique feature in the house. Russ Palmer (the Architect) calls it “virtually a work of art”. Crafted of several types of wood hand selected by Stuart Short of T & S Alpine Building Inc., it incorporates heavy half-log treads and a balustrade combining twigs and elk antlers.
